Initial applications of smart glass have been based around dynamic light control for user comfort and privacy functions. The opaqueness of the glass is altered by the properties of an embedded layer changing with electric signals.
Going forward the possibilities for smart glass use will expand, smart mirrors, multimedia display, enhanced driver assistance functions and eventually moving toward interactive functionality.
As a result there is a need to communicate with the smart glass technology. Again FPC technology is ideally suited to this as it can be incorporated in much the same manner as it is presently used for our glass mounted antenna products. Thus delivering the necessary signals in a robust, reliable way whilst offering weight and space saving over conventional wiring.
